The results of a fire !
Above is a picture of the wreckage of my former electric moped....What happened you ask?
I was riding, what at the time, was an electric moped in a road close to the student halls where I live. However, when I went along, I was dismayed to smell a burning smell. I looked down and saw a lot of smoke below where I was sitting. I stopped the moped and I saw a flame.
I quickly dashed back to the halls I got a fire extinguisher with which to put the fire out. I got it out, but at a high cost! The smoke aggrivated my asthma and possibly caused other breathing problems. The result has been I have been off work for about 5 weeks!
Despite the best attempts of the NHS, in total about 12 visits to date, I was not substantially better. However, I recently visited a herbalist who gave me a brew to take. So far the results have been encouraging - I will update as events develop!

I recommend Hippocratic Oaths by Raymond Tallis, a very readable account and not totally anti complementary medicine, one of the more balanced views from a conventional doctor out there.
Hope you are long since recovered!
Hello again Medically Brunette - of course - its a pleasure to receive such comments on the blog; thank you for taking the time:-)
Of all the authors you might have mentioned I think you would not have gained more browny points than by choosing Raymond Tallis - who I think is one of the cleverest men alive.
I once met him at a consciousness meet and I was very impressed by his clarity of thought, depth of knowledge, wit and perspective.
I agree, he struck me as someone who was pretty open to other points of view - and - able to be a bit 'anti-orthodox' as it suited - but always on matters of reason, not simply to be controversial. He also writes poetry.
In short a good egg! Someone to look up to and aspire to be like!
