Round up

You find me, dear reader, with approximately 15 days left of school placement to go before completing this very hard going PGCE.

I would not say the work was hard, I don't think it has challenged me in the say way as the MSc work I have done. But, it has genuinely challenged me in terms of the sheer amount of work that needs to be done.

I would also say that there are some additional challenges doing this qualification through a distance learn course. Since I don't hace access to tutors by going to their classroom; I only have access by email (or occasionally phone) it makes those little admin things that go wrong that bit harder.

Still, I have many reasons to be positive. Just 15 days of work left - then freedom! hooray!

Wish me luck job hunting by the way!

unexpected placements....

As you probably know, I have been training as a teacher as well as studying this past year.

There has been quite a lot of attention paid to me recently because different people have had different ideas about where I would be spending my final placement on training.

There were some who said it would be Berrick Upon Tweed - which is about 300 miles from Leicester; then there were some who said that Grimsby was more like it at 120 miles away - fortunately the rank outsider, Nuneaton won out - at only 20 miles away this is much more convenient!

My finaly placement on my dizzing assent into the realms of teaching begins in Nuneaton!

Wish me luck....

Reasons to love Majorca

I present below several pictures taken from a recent holiday I had in Majorca. I think they aptly express some of the myriad of reasons why I love they island!

Some positive Electric transport news

This week a showroom selling an electric sports car has opened in London. The dealership will be selling the much talked about Tesla Neon Sports car. An impressive performance rating of 4 seconds to 60 mph, should have anyone who says electric transport is slow eating their words. The quoted range is 244 miles.
Perhaps most impressively of all, its assembled here in Britain at the Lotus factor. Be warned though, the price tag is currently £87,000, so better get saving the pennies!

The results of a fire !

Above is a picture of the wreckage of my former electric moped....What happened you ask?

I was riding, what at the time, was an electric moped in a road close to the student halls where I live. However, when I went along, I was dismayed to smell a burning smell. I looked down and saw a lot of smoke below where I was sitting. I stopped the moped and I saw a flame.

I quickly dashed back to the halls I got a fire extinguisher with which to put the fire out. I got it out, but at a high cost! The smoke aggrivated my asthma and possibly caused other breathing problems. The result has been I have been off work for about 5 weeks!

Despite the best attempts of the NHS, in total about 12 visits to date, I was not substantially better. However, I recently visited a herbalist who gave me a brew to take. So far the results have been encouraging - I will update as events develop!

A quick update.

Ok, so its been a while! I apologies unreservedly for those of you who have been reading the blog for my dilatory blogging. I hope that such a long gap will not happen again!

In the mean time here are some explanations as to why I have not had much time to blog:

1. I continue to study the Psychology Msc part time, which is very time consuming.
2. I continue to study the PGCE, which is also time consuming.
3. I now have a small collection of electric transport.
4. When not working at these two, I continue my various bits of work with private tuition and Sainsbury.
5. I recently went to Spain for a holiday.

So, you’ll appreciate time for blogging has been non-existant until now. I hope very much over the coming weeks and months to post at least a few articles each month.

You may also like to see a short taster of my holiday; so I include a picture in this article.
